New ads from Google will soon clutter mobile phones.
Various ad types will occur on all mobile phones from Google. The announcement was made at the Google Marketing Live conference held on Tuesday.
New products related to shopping have been announced by Google. The Google Shopping homepage will make it easy for consumers to make purchases and to compare prices and brands easily. Consumers can buy from Google retailers directly too.
After Amazon, it is time for Google to compete in online ad business with a new Shopping Experience.
Gallery ads will show on mobile phones. Google has tested gallery ads from early this year and will become more prominent in the days to come. These ads are expected to increase the interactions by 25 percent from the traditional ads, says Ad Chief Prabhakar Raghavan from Google. Gallery ads will not occur on desktops.
Discovery ads will show up on mobile apps. They will also be on Android phones on the discover feed. They will appear just as another story with an image on the top, with a headline and a subject field. A little badge with “ad” on it will help users know that it is sponsored.
Google mobile search will provide a lot of visuals for its pages. Movies will come along with poster images and with photos of leading actors. Some will come with video clips and review snippets too. Even as viewers watch the products on the video, they can buy the product immediately, says Oliver Heckmann, the VP of Travel and Shopping from Google.
Visuals will help to draw the attention of users to advertiser content. YouTube will have these ads along with recommended videos.
Showcase Shopping ads, help retailers through its showcase opportunity to non-branded searches. The ads will carry information about the location of the retailers if they are nearby and offer more details on the featured product.
